HLP worked on a programme of supported housing projects for over fifty-fives in the Chester area replacing existing outdated accommodation.

The new building at Hoole creates thirty-six apartments including twelve for shared ownership.

It sits between existing three storey flats creating landscaped courtyards between the buildings and providing new parking courts to the rear of the new building.

The design reflects the proximity to Chester Town Centre with strong corners interspersed with brick and render panels to break down the overall massing.  The curved form of the access stairs are highlighted in a strong blue brick creating focal point towers visible upon approach.

At the heart of the development is a three storey atrium space which is the main circulation space and connects the communal facilities.

These projects provide a healthy, modern environment for elderly care and the mixed tenure gives a greater variety of affordable housing provision.
