Built from slate salvaged from the local mountain the centre is contextual to the local aesthetic. The building is laid out around a central courtyard garden which floods the circulation areas with light. The entrance to the medical centre and pharmacy is a gallery which connects the activities and frames the specular landscape views.

This new centre is being built to replace an existing cramped doctors surgery and expand the health care facilities for the wider area. The site is located on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and sits in the shadow of a former slate works. Local slate is used in the facing materials, roofing and external works. 

The project was successfully reviewed by the Design Commission for Wales and uses a landscaped courtyard solution to bring natural light and ventilation to the heart of the plan. 

HLP have used a number of visualisation techniques and worked with the doctors and practice manager to establish preferred layouts and finishes.

HLP have also undertaken liaison with the pharmacy, dental, chiropody, phlebotomy and community representatives to integrate these new facilities.

The completed project will provide a modern health resource for Bethesda and the surrounding area.

This integration of pharmacy services aligns with the centre's goal to provide comprehensive health care, ensuring that patients have convenient access to vital medications within the same facility.
