A multi-functional community resource centre built on a miners welfare sports ground. The building includes library, social club, outdoor swimming pool, police station, vets and outdoor sports facilities including a bowling green. The centre utilises a solar array to heat the swimming pool and the building form follows the rolling hills of Shropshire.

The form of this award winning project reflects the rolling hills of Shropshire. Designed to an environmentally sustainable agenda, the scheme has one of the largest arrays of solar heating panels in the UK.

The centre was designed in participation with the community and provides a wide range of community and leisure facilities.  These include a swimming pool, changing rooms, sports halls and a fitness centre, alongside a nursery, library, police room, computer suite, and community hall with social areas.

The project also provides shared premises for a medical surgery, youth room, and offices for voluntary organisations.
