Design for Dementia – The International Dimension complements earlier Halsall Lloyd publications Design for Dementia – A Guide and Design for Dementia – Research Projects co-authored by Bill Halsall of Halsall Lloyd Partnership and Dr Rob MacDonald of Liverpool John Moores University.
Design for Dementia – The International Dimension includes case studies in the Netherlands and Japan and take an overview of international best practice. Bill and Rob were assisted in Design for Dementia – The International Dimension by Davide Landi, Research Assistant at Liverpool John Moores University who carried out fieldwork in Europe and Japan. The research concludes with a ‘ten point plan’ summarising the key lessons learnt.
The RIBA research grants sub-committee were very impressed with the research project and commented:
‘The final report has rigorous background research and case studies that are significant and of ambitious international scope.’
