Hoole School was remodelled to amalgamate primary and nursery schools onto one site. The design was strongly led by an environmental sustainability agenda. The new school halls, including community provision and six new teaching spaces, were integrated into the school campus, and the existing buildings were rationalised into a functional plan, remodelled and refurbished.
The new elements address sustainability issues by the use of a timber-framed, cedar-clad structure. This facilitated speed of construction and enabled the school to remain in use throughout the construction period.
