Framework Housing Association ran a successful service providing emergency accommodation for homeless people in Worksop for which HLP were originally project architects in 2001.
When they decided to purchase two adjoining properties and extend the facilities in 2007, Framework Housing Association turned to the practice once again to provide a tailored architectural and interior design service.
The proposal included additional bed spaces each with en-suite facilities and a kitchenette to allow self sufficiency. The support facilities were refurbished, and enhanced with the addition to the management offices of a new reception with private interview area, training / resource rooms, an IT computer suite and training kitchen.
Halsall Lloyd Partnership also provided a landscape architecture design service to create a low maintenance garden to the rear of the property as well as lighting design which included low energy luminaires throughout, and controls to maximise energy efficiency whilst maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Bespoke features included a reception desk with LED colour change lighting detail and two ‘through-wall’ fish tanks providing discreet surveillance of the interview space.
